Leonardo da` vinci || paintings
Leonardo Da Vinci innovated new ways of painting. One of the ways he innovated painting was the use of light and dark. In Salvator Mundi, Leonardo made him have defined, realistic eyes, nose and cloth. When you first look at Salvator Mundi, you get drawn to his forehead, chest and the orb because of the of the bright color patterns. If you have not noticed yet, the background behind Salvator Mundi is completely black, but you can barely see that because most or all of you attention is drawn to him.
In the Mona Lisa, Leonardo did a different style of painting. Instead of having a black background, the background was completely filled. Even though there is a detailed background, your attention is still going toward Mona Lisa. You do not really notice her hands, nor her impossible smile. The detailed background for paintings was slightly weird because you are not supposed to be looking at the background, you are supposed to look at the main focus. With the amazement that Leonardo was able to add a background, without people not paying attention to the main focus.
In The Last Supper, it was an extraordinary. There has been hundreds of paintings of The Last Supper, but Leonardo made his version different. He wanted to capture the moment when Jesus said, One of you will betray me. Leonardo had everyone at a different pose and reaction. The background is painted fully and the room they are sitting in has a three dimensional design. Leonardo also managed to have you mainly look at Jesus in the center, then examine the people around him. He did this by one focus point, which is Jesus, and everything else lead to him.
